The Matabele people have faced centuries of oppression, and the scars of history remain deeply etched in the fabric of our society. The Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) believes that addressing these injustices is not only a matter of righting the wrongs of the past but also a necessary step towards healing and unity.
The Matabeleland region has endured immense suffering, especially during and after the period of the Gukurahundi massacres. The forced resettlements, displacement, and systematic oppression faced by the people of Mthwakazi have left lasting impacts. These injustices have been largely overlooked, and many have gone unacknowledged by successive governments.
The MRP calls for justice, truth, and reconciliation for the people of Mthwakazi. It is essential that the government of Zimbabwe takes responsibility for these crimes and ensures that the victims receive proper redress. Additionally, we advocate for a formal apology, compensation, and policies aimed at healing the wounds of the past.
Through raising awareness, seeking justice, and advocating for accountability, the MRP remains committed to addressing the historical wrongs that have been inflicted on our people. We will continue to demand a future where the Matabele people are respected and empowered.
It’s time to acknowledge the past and embrace a future where the Matabele people can live in peace and dignity. Together, we can right the wrongs of history and build a Mthwakazi that is strong, united, and free.
